The butter not only gets recycled by the sculptors but also after the show is over. It is given to a dairy farm in Juniata County that has an anaerobic digester. The digester breaks down the butter and other organic refuse to produce biogas and generate energy. Mr.
How are butter sculptures made?
The sculpting process began with a bit of engineering. Full-size butter sculptures have complex, heavier armatures, made with welded metal and PVC pipes. Those structures are then covered with a hardware cloth before butter is molded on top.
