How does check and connect work?
Check & Connect is an intervention used with K-12 students who show warning signs of disengagement with school and who are at risk of dropping out. Students are referred to Check & Connect when they show warning signs of disengaging from school, such as poor attendance, behavioral issues, and/or low grades.
How much does check and connect cost?
The program is overseen at the school level by a program coordinator (e.g., special education coordinator or school psychologist), who provides monitors with regular advice and feedback. Check and Connect costs approximately $1,955 per student per year to implement, in 2017 dollars.
